For the Love of the Game Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan Goes NASCAR As Owner of Bubba Wallace Team

Michael Jordan has gone NASCAR as principal owner! Jordan and Denny Hamlin are starting a new single car NASCAR Cup Series team for 2021, and the driver is Bubba Wallace, the only Black full-time NASCAR driver at that level.

This is exciting news as Michael Jordan is the second African American NASCAR owner in American history. The first was Wendell Scott. Not only did Wendell Scott own a NASCAR team but he was also the first African American driver.

Jordan’s ownership of a NASCAR team is truly a historic move, one that will definitely create ripples to move the strength of diversity to new heights at a time when Black Entrepreneurship is stronger than it’s ever been in America.
