Black Women Authors Bring Centered by Tamira Chapman of Storehouse Voices, Women & Words

With Black women being the most dominant force in content creation and also being the engine behind several movements in the country and around the world, Tamira Chapman, backed by the First Lady Michelle Obama, are heading up push to have more Black women voices heard in literature.

Tamira Chapman, an attorney and founder/publisher of Storehouse Publishing Women & Words, has a goal of amplifying the words of women who are underrepresented in the world of publishing. It’s well known that when it comes to Black authors in general, they are pigeonholed into a specific niche and anyone outside of that or those couple of genres, are left behind and ignored. Women & Words is here to change that through a program to meet the needs of those aspiring for more.

According to Essence, “more than 10K Black women” registered in one month’s time, attended online sessions to later many acquired an agent. For more on how you can gain information and join Women & Words, click here.
